Installation Information
Schedule An Installation Date
A Westec Installation Coordinator will contact you to schedule an installation date and determine any special needs. If there is anything we should know to make this process easier for you, please tell your Installation Coordinator.
The Walk-Through
We need you to be present when the Westec Installers arrive, to walk through the facility, verify the camera locations, and discuss any special needs. The system is dependent on the cameras being located correctly.
Electricity Requirements
The Westec system needs electricity to operate. While we provide all of the equipment, you provide a standard 110 volt power plug for the system at the DVR, PC Monitor (optional), and Security Monitor (optional) locations. If power is not currently available, please make arrangements to add the necessary outlets and let the Installation Coordinator know of any delays.
Internet Service
We provide you with Westec Remote Client to view your video over the Internet. Westec does not provide you with Internet service. You will need the following broadband Internet service at your business to access the system remotely:
- An uplink speed of 256KB or better
- Available space for the DVR on your existing network (an open port on your router)
- Ability to configure your network connection (passwords, etc)
- If you do not have a static IP address, a system name will be assigned by Westec
On-site Training
On the day of your installation we will train you and your staff on the system. This training takes about 30 minutes to complete.
